Linda Carol Crawford

September 22, 1952 — August 8, 2021

Linda Carol (Spivey) Crawford, 68, of Lampasas passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at Advent Health Central Texas in Killeen.

Visitation will be held at Sneed Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, August 11 from 6 pm to 8 pm.  Graveside services will be held at Watson Cemetery in Burnet County on Thursday, August 12 at 11 am.

Linda was born on September 22, 1952, to parents Annie Mearl (Faught) and Lewis Randle Spivey.  She was the youngest of the three Spivey children and was raised in San Saba before the family moved to the Lometa, Texas area.  They were a close-knit family and made their living through farming and ranching.

She grew up in the Primitive Baptist Church and was baptized at the age of 17.  She and nine others were baptized in the Lampasas River, near Oakalla in 1970.

Linda excelled in high school, as a proud graduate and Valedictorian of Lampasas High School in 1971.  A member of the National Honor Society, she won the Honor Award and was a member of the American Heritage Organization, the Yearbook staff, Spanish club, editor of the "Quill and Scroll", Future Homemakers of America, elected F.H.A Sweetheart, and member of the choir and pep squad.  It was during her high school years when she was blessed to meet the love of her life, fellow Lampasas High School alumnus, Bruce Crawford.  Linda and Bruce were married on September 22, 1973.

Linda and Bruce would continue to call Lampasas home and were blessed with three children - Misty, Randy, and Ashley.  While always making family her top priority, she was also appointed Lampasas County Tax Assessor in 2000 and elected to three consecutive terms.  For close to 30 years, Linda worked for Lampasas County.  A long-standing and successful career in public service.  Linda also carried the responsibility of being a minister's wife and she exemplified the devotion and humility required to serve in such a capacity.  At the time of her passing, Linda was a member of the Florence Primitive Baptist Church where her husband, Elder Bruce Crawford, serves as pastor.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Glen Arval Spivey, and grandson, Casey Randle Crawford.  It was young Casey who called her "Momo" and the rest of the family lovingly adopted the same name for her.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Elder Bruce Crawford; children, Misty Smith (Hollis), Elder Randy Crawford (Dee Ann), Ashley Reza (John); grandchildren, Brayden Head, Payton Crawford, Cadence Reza, Zaide Reza, London Reza; sister, Charlotte Powell (Landis); niece, Tammy Powell, and nephews, Gaylon Powell (Kristie) and Kevin Powell (Olivia).

In speaking of a "Virtuous Woman", proverbs 31 says:

"Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.  She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.  She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.  Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her".

As a daughter, sibling, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend - Linda Crawford was truly a virtuous woman.  Blessed by God, she finished her course and she kept the faith, a faith she relied upon continually throughout her life.  The seeds that she has planted have and will continue to bear fruit.  We rejoice in the sweet knowledge that the very moment her race was run, a still small voice welcomed her into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Florence Primitive Baptist Church in Linda's name.
