Linda grew up in Spur, Texas. After high school she volunteered at a hospital in Waco as a Candy Striper, and later as a foster parent. Linda worked as the office manager for Lindler-Broughton Building Company in Houston for thirty-five years.
Linda married Charles Ernest Braughton. They were married for 36 years. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, and parents.
Linda is survived by her son Edward Lee Braughton (Teresa), of Pasadena Texas; sisters, Carol Greenberg, Round Rock, TX, Barbara Moon, Brazil, IN, Janet Hargett (Michael) Bastrop, TX, Lisa Jackson (JJ) Paige, Tx, and Sonja Morris (Randy), Lampasas, TX. Four great-grandchildren, Damian, Eddie, Alexis, and Faith and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Linda was a born-again believer in Jesus and aspired to be a missionary. From this relationship with her Savior her special gift was being a giver and a helper. Her dream of being a missionary was fulfilled; it just didn’t look like she envisioned it might. She unconditionally loved everyone and would give her last penny to someone in need. She always exuded a positive and grateful attitude, and her kindness and generosity touched many people. Goodbye sweet and beautiful sister, until we meet again around the throne room in heaven.
Proverbs 18:24 “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Linda Fay Braughton was that friend.
