Leroy M. Owens, 89, passed away, Tuesday, August 11, 2020 from natural causes with his loving daughters by his side. Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Interment will be private. Papa loved his family and was always traveling to visit cousins, his brother, and other relatives across the country. He was happiest when he was playing games with friends and setting out on the road, he was never one to sit still. His daily walks gave him peace and the opportunity to socialize with new friends and old neighbors. He was a hard working man with integrity and took pride in a job done right. Leroy faithfully served his country in the United States Army as a paramedic during the Korean War. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church Lampasas and enjoyed his Sunday school class. Most of Leroy's career was spent as a welding inspector on pipelines. He loved his children, the best he could and adored and cherished his wife, Betty. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty; son, Travis Owens and numerous other relatives and friends. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lampasas Fire Department in Leroy's name. Survivors: daughters, Trisa Smith and husband, JD, Sherry Porter; grandchildren, Jodi Cunningham, Courtney Owens Ramp, Keith Owens, James Porter, Jina Porter, Bo Lockhart and wife, Audra, Justin Lockhart and wife, Amber, Ben Lockhart and 14 great-grandchildren.
