Lee Roy Shepperd, 83, of Lometa, TX passed away at his home on January 16, 2018. He was born on October 29, 1934 in Salado, TX. He was a graduate of Salado High School and attended The University of Texas. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1957. After serving, he established a wholesale car business in Austin. He traveled across the U.S. as a member of The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, team roping, ranching, supporting Longhorn athletics, telling stories, holding his grandchildren, and taking in sunsets from the back porch. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sue Shepperd of Lometa; son Jeffrey Shepperd of Lometa; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jann Shepperd of Austin; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Jeffrey England of Cypress; son and daughter-in-law, Reagan and Janet Shepperd of Dripping Springs; brother and sister-in-law, Cotton and Elaine Shepperd of Salado; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Skip Carter of Salado; eight beautiful grandchildren and two precious great grandchildren. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lois Shepperd of Salado and his brother Harold Wayne Shepperd, of Salado. A visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas, TX. Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas, TX. A private family burial will take place in Salado following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations could be made to The American Cancer Society. The family would like to say a special thank you to all the caregivers from New Century Hospice.
