Lee Carson, 60, passed away on April 17, 2025, doing what he loved, which was ranching. He was born on January 29, 1965, in Temple, Texas to T.R. and Novella (Shugart) Carson.
Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Friday, April 25, from 6 pm to 8 pm. Services will be at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Saturday, April 26, at 10 am. Burial will follow at Prairie View Cemetery in Briggs, TX.
Lee grew up in Copperas Cove, Texas, until the 5th grade, when the family moved to Lampasas. He graduated from Lampasas High School in 1984. After high school, Lee worked for the Wagon Wheel Ranch for 17 years and has since worked for the G Bar M Ranch in Briggs, Texas, for over 20 years.
Lee married Tulisha (Brown) in 1984, and they had 3 beautiful children together. Later in life, Lee found his soulmate, Tina Butler, and they shared over 10 years of joyous life together. Lee was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church as well as Maxdale Cowboy Church. He had a passion for agriculture and tending to livestock, and a gift in his ability to understand animals. He was a true cowboy, and loved working with and riding horses and doing all things outdoors. He was a loving father, grandfather (Bebo), father-figure to many, and most importantly, a friend to all. He was the man to call when you needed help, and he never hesitated to lend a helping hand. He loved the Lord with all his heart, and his bright smile and contagious kindness was matched by none.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents, T.R. and Novella (Shugart) Carson, his brother, Terry Carson, and his daughter, Allison Michelle Carson.
Lee is survived by his soulmate, Tina Butler of Belton, Texas; his son, Travis Carson (Chelsea) of Marble Falls, Texas; his daughter, Abbie (Caul) Smith of Lampasas, Texas; his brothers, Harlan (Sharon) Carson of Buna, Texas and Randall (Annette) Carson of Tatum, Texas; his grandchildren, Tate Remington Carson (14) and Ivan Lee Smith (2), and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Lee Carson Memorial Scholarship Fund at Cadence Bank in Lampasas, which will go toward a yearly showmanship scholarship at the Lampasas County Stock Show.
