Lawrence "Larry" Adams

Lawrence “Larry” M. Adams, 60, of Kempner passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2013. A Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Southern Hills Baptist Church at 2920 South FM 116 in Kempner.
Larry was born February 9, 1953 to Nathan and Doris Haynes Adams in Wichita Falls, TX. They moved to Ogdensburg, New York where he completed High School in 1972. That same year in August 19, 1972 he married Betty Jane Stevenson in New York. Larry joined the United States Army in November of 1975 and served 20 years before retiring. While serving he was stationed in Germany and Korea. After Larry retired he began his second career driving a truck, which he loved. Larry also loved to watch NASCAR and the Green Bay Packers. When Larry wasn’t on the road he enjoyed his family at Southern Hills Baptist Church where he and Betty were both baptized on their 40th wedding anniversary. Larry is preceded in death by his mother, Doris Wilson in 2003.
Larry is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Adams; his father, Nathan Adams and wife Louise; children, Melissa Young and husband James of Killeen, Marney Garza and husband Steven of San Benito, Steven Adams and wife April of Oceanside, CA; sister, Bonnie Keller and husband Carl “Bud” of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Tyler Young, Brittani Young, Karrie Garza, and Zackary Adams.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southern Hills Baptist Church.
