Laurie Ann Smith

Laurie Wycoff Smith, 58, passed away on the morning of December 22, 2021, at her home in Lometa, Texas.  She was born on January 25, 1963, to Joel and Sally Wyckoff, in Geneva, New York.

Laurie grew up in Lodi and graduated from South Seneca High School in Ovid, New York, in 1981 and went on to earn a degree in horticulture.

Laurie was happily married to her husband, James Michael Smith, for over 30 years.  Together, they raised three children, Alene Erin Shick, Joel Berley Smith, and Joshua Michael Smith.  Laurie had a strong passion for rescuing animals and worked as a volunteer.  She also loved to travel, with a love for nature and new experiences.  

In lieu of flowers, she and the family has requested that you consider making a donation to your local no-kill animal shelter, or to your preferred humane society.  Furthermore, no public ceremony will be held.  Her ashes will be spread at Seneca Lake in the coming months, with her immediate family attending the closed ceremony.
