Kenney Roy Cantrell was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana to Abner and Bertha Mizell Cantrell on January 14, 1941.  He went to school at Bogalusa and came to Copperas Cove and attended Copperas Cove in 1958 where he has lived in the Copperas Cove, Kempner community ever since.  He married Vicki Lynn Cummings on February 14, 1976, in Kempner, TX.   He worked various construction jobs until he began to build custom homes.

He was involved in many things to include local events, his family, Miller Light, and lots of laughter. He was a skilled craftsman.  He sought perfection in everything he did. Whether a job he was working on, frying catfish, or smoking briskets, which he often cooked for the local Knights of Columbus. Kenney was a wonderful husband, father, teacher, and friend. He was extremely active and an avid supporter of anything that his children or grandchildren were involved in. He sponsored many baseball and softball leagues and would spend hours tossing balls, and patiently teaching them the rules of the game or his view of the proper ways of the game. He loved his Longhorns, hated the Dallas Cowboys, and despised the Oklahoma Sooners with a vengeance, a tradition his grandchildren will carry on. The stories and joy that he brought will live in our hearts forever.

He loved to build and remodel homes. His work and his legacy will live on in the many people that he helped realize their dreams of homeownership. He always had to make it right no matter the time or cost. He was baptized at Superior Baptist Church in Bogalusa, Louisiana.

Kenney was preceded in death by his father, Abner Owen Cantrell; mother, Bertha Mizell Cantrell; two brothers, Gary Cantrell, Richard Cantrell; son, Robert Owen Cantrell; and his daughter, Kimberly Ann Cantrell.

Kenney is survived by the love of his life, Vicki Cummings Cantrell; daughter, Belinda Cantrell, sister, Irene Pravata of Louisiana; grandchildren, Jordan Owen McKenzie Cantrell, Kaela Nicole Cantrell, Mary Ryan Elizabeth Cantrell, and a host of beloved cousins in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Tennessee.

The family of Kenneth Cantrell wishes to extend our sincere thanks to North Austin Medical Center and New Century Hospice.
