Julio (JR) Valles

Julio (JR) Valles, 75, of Childress, formerly of Lampasas, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020, in Amarillo, TX.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2020, at Sneed Funeral Chapel.  Funeral Services are private but will be live-streamed via Sneed Funeral Chapel's Facebook page.

JR was born on July 1, 1945, in Adamsville, TX to Julio Valles, Sr. and Aurora Montoya Valles.  He loved helping people and was a friend to everyone, serving his community was very important to him.  He was always in attendance at Friday night football games, whether in Lampasas or Childress.  He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, University of Texas Longhorns, and the Texas Rangers.  He spent his career as a Journeyman pipefitter and retired 5 years ago.  While living in Lampasas, JR was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church and when he moved to Childress about 25 years ago was an active member of Holy Angels Catholic Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Julio, Sr. and Aurora Valles; brothers, Mike Valles, Manuel Valles; son, Fernando Valles; daughters, Sylvia Marie Valles, Mary Ann Henderson and his first wife and mother of his children, Margarita Guerra Valles.

Survivors include his daughter, Suzanne Butler; son, David Valles; siblings, Henry Valles, Raymond Valles, and wife, Olivia, Linda Hernandez and husband, Jose, Lupe Valles and wife, June; sister-in-law, Katie Valles; grandchildren, Dashawn Butler, Ashley Butler, Ayanna Butler, De'Jon Butler, Cody Henderson, Jesse Henderson, Arizona Henderson; great-grandchildren, Malachi, Josiah, Marlin III, Shawn, Sean'e, Quentin, Harmony, Giannah; ex-wife, Melva Valles and her children, Elva Barrica, Alberto Gonzales, Jr. (Bebe), and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
