Julieann "Julie" Mazak-Blomberg, 46, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Temple, Texas.

Born on April 20, 1978, in Camden, New Jersey, Julie was raised in Shamokin, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Shamokin High School in 1996, where she was a proud member of the Rotary Club and the National Honor Society. A gifted athlete, Julie played both volleyball and softball and was honored in the Who's Who Among American High School Students.

Following high school, she earned a certificate in Computer Technology from Northumberland County Vocational Technical School. Julie then answered the call to serve and enlisted in the United States Army, completing basic training at Fort Jackson and advanced individual training at Fort Huachuca.

During her 18-year military career, Julie served with distinction in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Her assignments took her across the globe, including deployments to Kuwait, Egypt, and South Korea. She rose to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer (CW3) in military intelligence and was the proud recipient of the Bronze Star, the Knowlton Award, and numerous other commendations. Julie retired honorably from Fort Hood and made her home in Lampasas, Texas.

On July 31, 2012, Julie married her soulmate and best friend, Victor Blomberg, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together they shared 13 joyful years, filled with laughter, love, and adventure. Julie had a passion for crafting and loved to travel with Victor and her son, John. Anyone who knew Julie would describe her as strong-willed, fiercely protective, and deeply loving. Her generous spirit touched everyone she met, and she was always the first to offer a helping hand or a compassionate ear.

Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Marie Mazak.

She is survived by her husband, Victor Blomberg of Lampasas, Texas; her son, John Alex Micahel (Raven) Youngquist-Mazak of Copperas Cove, Texas; her sister, Kimberly (Julie Ann) Mazak of Augusta, Georgia; her brother, Jonathan (Meagan) Mazak of Augusta, Georgia; her best friend, Amie Jo Freed of Ashland, Pennsylvania; and her beloved aunt, Christine Fosbre of Bayville, New Jersey. She is also survived by three nephews and many extended family members who will miss her dearly.
