Julia Oma Stiles

Julia Oma Stiles, 90, passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, in San Saba, TX.

Memorial services will be held at the Church of the Hills in Lometa on Wedneday, July 26, 2023, at 11 am.

Julia was born in Las Animas, CO on September 27, 1932, to Wade and Oma (Stewart) Dunavin.  She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend who loved everyone dearly.  She never met a stranger and loved being around people.  She worked as a telephone operator for a few years before selling Avon, which she loved.  Her routes selling Avon typically took her longer than normal because she would stop and talk to everyone.  She also enjoyed playing the piano, was an avid reader and crossword puzzles.  She even enjoyed traveling the country and going on motorcycle rides with her husband.  One of her favorite things was sitting on her front porch which was right in the middle of town and watching everyone.  She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin; her daughter, Bonnie; her brother, Dale and her great-granddaughter, Katie-Rose.

Survivors include her daughters, Janet Wilson, and Gail Gorby and husband Brian; her son, Mike Stiles; her grandchildren, Cody Wilson, Cammi Gensil, Zachary Gorby, Heath Fountain, Melissa Williams; her great-grandchildren, Gage, Tannah, Darcy, Jackson, Riley, Oliver, Oscar, Lola, Elaina and great-great-granddaughter, Alanna.
