Joyce Bear Franklin

Joyce Elaine Bear Franklin, 83, passed away at her home in Lampasas on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel Lampasas on Monday, February 17, from 5 pm to 7 pm.  Services will be on Tuesday, February 18, at 10 am, at Adamsville Baptist Church with burial to follow at Groves Cemetery.

Joyce was born on January 16, 1942, in Wharton, TX to Sidney and Juanita (Ross) Bear.  She grew up in Cleveland, TX, and graduated from Cleveland High School.  She attended CTC and graduated with a degree in Nursing as class valedictorian and became a Registered Nurse in 1978.  Joyce retired from nursing in 2008.

She married Bill Franklin on February 4, 1961, in Cleveland, TX, and they were happily married for 64 years. She was a faithful member of Adamsville Baptist Church and the Lions Club for many years.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Bill Franklin; her brother, Dee Ross Bear; her daughters, Kathy Long (Randy), and Shari Franklin; her grandchildren, Whitney McDonald (Matt), Samantha Long (Jason), Sarah Wilson (Justin), Sidney Franklin and Scotti Franklin; her great-grandchildren, Kade, Kooper, Ellie, Kace, Merritt, and Tess.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Lampasas Lions Club in Joyce's memory.
