Joseph Oliver Banta

Joseph Oliver Banta, 91 of Lampasas, Texas died Monday June 24, 2019 at Lampasas Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born January 1, 1928 in Goose Creek, Texas to parents Jospeh Oscar Banta and Willie Edna (Shelton) Banta. Joe was a young boy when his father died and the family moved to Lampasas. He attended local schools for several years and graduated from Goose Creek High School. He later graduated from The University of Texas with a Bachelor’s degree and began working for IBM in Austin. He retired as an accountant with them after many years. Joe was a member of the Christadelphian Ecclesia Austin and Leander. He is survived by his wife, Norma Banta Daughter, Linda Banta Putnick of Michigan Brothers; Erby Hugh Wolfe Jr. James Carl Wolfe Sisters; Jaxene Burkett Seba Faye Farley Grandchildren; Sharon, Bethany, Stephen, Marissa, Amanda, Andrea and Luke 7 Great-grandchildren   Joewas preceded in death by his parents, by first wife, Marie Lorna Banta and by son, John Thomas Banta.    Funeral service will be Saturday June 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel.
