Joseph Leonard Anders Sr.

January 27, 1933 — April 7, 2019

Joe Anders   He was born January 27, 1933 in Colmar KY to Ruth Peace and Leory Anders.  He grew up in that region and in 1950 joined the Navy where he served for 5 years.  Most of his service was on the U.S. Navy Rhine River Patrol in Schierstein, Germany. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal.  After his military service Joe went to work at IBM in Lexington, KY as a machinist and subsequently transferred with them to Austin where he worked in the New Products Dept. and was responsible for locating components for building upcoming IBM products. He married Glosena (Glo) Robbins in 1983.  In 1992 Joe retired from IBM after 35 years and in 2004 moved to Lampasas. Joe enjoyed bowling, fishing, and puttering in the garden and was a big supporter of Friends of the Lampasas Animal Shelter.  He never met a stranger and always enjoyed being with friends and family. He is survived by his Wife, Glo Anders Sons, Joe Anders Jr. James Anders 3 step-children, Jason Robbins, Noel Robbins, Kathy Burchfield 7 grandchildren, Leo Anders, Lisa Anders, Emily Robbins Zlatos, T.J. Robbins, Lloyd Robbins, Tom Burchfield and Alex Burchfield 1 great-grandchild, Steven Zlatos   Joe was preceded in death by his 3 siblings, Harrold Anders, Ray Anders and Jean Anders Kilburn.   A memorial service will be Saturday April 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel.
