Joseph V. Adams

Joseph Victor “Joe” Adams died at his home following a lengthy illness in Lampasas on Saturday October 14, 2107 at the age of 77.   The family is honoring his request to be cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date. Sneed Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.   Joe is survived by his wife of 53 years Kathy, sons Joe Adams Jr. and wife Barbara of Lampasas, Brian Adams and wife Tandy of Alpine, and Michael Adams and wife Melissa of Tooele, Utah along with 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Survivors include 2 brothers, Roy and George Adams and 3 sisters Dorothy Peterson, Becky Stiffy and Kathy Pendergraph all of North Carolina. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Cora Adams of North Carolina.   Joe was born on February 9, 1940 in Four Oaks, North Carolina to George Sidney and Cora Stanley Adams. He joined the Army in 1958 and retired in 1981 having served in Viet Nam, Korea, and Germany. He married Kathy Scallon on March 10, 1964 in Columbia, S.C.
