Jose Mora

Jose F. Mora, 89, of Gatesville, passed away in Temple. Funeral Services will be at 12 Noon on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Scott's Funeral Home in Copperas Cove with burial following at 2 PM on the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Jose was born on September 18, 1925 in Tavener, Texas to the late Jose and Andrea Flores Mora. He grew up and lived in South Texas with his family doing crop sharing. In 1943 he joined the United States Army and served for 7 years during WW II. After the War, Jose was in the US Army Reserves and then reenlisted during the Korean Conflict.  After his time serving, he moved his family to Central Texas and he begin his career with Civil Service working at MATES at North Fort Hood as a mechanic.  Jose married Antonia Arocha in 1952 and had five wonderful children.

Jose was preceded in death by  his parents; brother, Felix Mora and a son, Benito Mora.

Jose is survived by his wife, Antonia; children, Gonzalo Mora and wife, Jane, Alice Mora Sutherland and husband, Jimbo, Laura Lyle and husband, David, Amparo Hudson and husband, Harley; brothers, Julio Mora, Mingo Mora, Pablo Mora; sister, Gabriela Rubelcaba;12 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
