John T. E. Spruiell, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2023, surrounded by his loving family in Copperas Cove, TX. He was born on August 14, 1945, in Fallbrook, CA.
John led a remarkable and fulfilling life, leaving an indelible mark on all those who had the privilege of knowing him. He was cherished by many and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of his company. His warm heart and vibrant personality endeared him to everyone he met.
From an early age, John displayed a strong work ethic and a thirst for knowledge. He attended Spokane Central High School before pursuing higher education at East Washington University. He proudly earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, which laid the foundation for his successful career.
John's dedication to serving his country was exemplary. He selflessly devoted over six years of his life to the United States Marines and went on to serve more than twelve years in the United States Army. A true patriot, he courageously completed three tours in Vietnam. John's commitment to his fellow soldiers and his unwavering loyalty made him a respected figure among his peers. After an illustrious military career spanning over twenty years, he retired with honor.
Though John accomplished much in his professional life, it was the love and devotion he shared with his family that truly defined him. For fifty-two wonderful years, he was united in marriage with Trilby Spruiell. Their bond was one built on trust, respect, laughter, and unwavering support. Together they created a beautiful family that brought immense joy to their lives.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas.
In addition to his loving wife, John is survived by his son Ivan, daughter Cassandra, grandsons Gaibriel, Vincent, and James, and great-grandson Charles. These cherished family members brought immense happiness to John's life, and he treasured each precious moment spent with them.
John was known for his quick wit and infectious laughter. His jovial personality brightened any room he entered, and he had an uncanny ability to bring joy to those around him. He had a unique talent for turning even the most mundane tasks into memorable adventures.
Throughout his life, John touched the hearts of countless individuals. His kind soul and genuine compassion resonated deeply with all who met him. Whether through acts of kindness or a simple listening ear, he uplifted the spirits of those in need. John's legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the memories he created.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate John's remarkable life will be held on August 16, 2023. The service will commence at 11:00 AM at Refugee Ministries 2602 S FM 116, Copperas Cove, TX 76522. Friends, family members, and all those whose lives were enriched by John are welcome to attend the service.
As we bid farewell to our beloved John T. E. Spruiell, let us remember him as a devoted husband, loving father, doting grandfather, and cherished friend. His memory will forever be etched in our hearts. May his soul find eternal peace as we celebrate the extraordinary life he led.
