John Lonnie Hoozer, 69, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, in Killeen, Texas. A Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at Sneed Funeral Chapel with the funeral service to start at 3:00 p.m. Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2020, at Good Hope Cemetery in Singer, Louisiana. John was born April 15, 1951, in Beaumont, Texas to Earl and Hazel Hoozer. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed crabbing and going to the beach, which the family did every fathers day. You could always find John outside, he enjoyed gardening and loved mowing his lawn. He was also very known for his signature gumbo dish that was enjoyed by family and friends alike. Most of John's career was spent in pipe fitting, welding and for about 8 years he was employed with Lampasas ISD in the maintenance department, where he retired. John was a member of New Life Apostolic Church in Killeen, Texas. He had a huge heart, would do anything for anyone, loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Hazel Hoozer; wife, Cynthia Hoozer in 2016; sister, Laura Stanley, and brother, David Hoozer. Survivors include his sons, Mark Hoozer and wife, Elizabeth, David Wiggins and wife, Heather, Matthew Hoozer and wife, Crystal, Taylor Wiggins; daughters, Hope Armfield and husband, Darian, Carrie LeLeux and husband, Jason; brothers, Earl, Robert, William, Michael; sisters, LaVon, LaNell, Shirley; 15 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
