John Eberhardt

John W. Eberhardt, 88, of Kempner TX, passed away on 20 Feb 2021.

John was born in Jamaica, NY to John and Gertrude Eberhardt on 7 Aug 1932. He went to school at Newtown High School in Elmhurst, NY. He married Margaret Shields on 24 Aug 1952 in Valley Stream, NY. He served in the Naval Reserves as a Petty Officer Second Class Pipefitter. John also worked as an HVAC Specialist for many years. He graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from Ulster County Community College.

John was active in community affairs, including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, foster parenting, Board of Elections, and Town Planning Board. He was a Volunteer Fireman for many years in Clintondale, NY, where he also served as a Fire Commissioner and then Chairman.

John is preceded in death by his son John, his parents John and Gertrude, his sister Lorraine, and his brother Ronald.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Margaret, his children Deborah, Cynthia, David, Howard, Louis, Noel, and Peggie Ann, his sons-in-law Paul and Roger, his daughters-in-law Janet, Irma, Karen, and Crystal. He was a proud grandfather to Lisa, David, Samantha, Stephanie, Nicole, Matthew, Anthony, Rachael, Kate, Alicia, Sarah, Sabrina, and their spouses Darrell, Ja’nae, Dan, Joe, Nick, Jess, Khammy, and Augie. He was great-grandpa to Tymon, Adron, Jackson, Jonathan, Michael, Ava, Alex, Jordan, Sagan, and Tommy. He is also survived by his baby sister Carol and many nieces and nephews.
