Joe Vidrine, age 79 of Kempner, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2014 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Scott's Funeral Home Chapel in Copperas Cove. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Kempner Cemetery. A Rosary will be held at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the funeral home, followed by a visitation time with the family.
Joe was born on September 11, 1935 in Eunice, Louisiana. He was the son of the late Lee and Viola Guillory Vidrine. He entered the Army in 1958 and served in the 1st Cavalry. He married Erika Berger while in the service in Germany. He retired after 25 years in 1983 as a Master Sgt. After his retirement from Ft. Hood, they settled in Kempner. He was a loving father and grandfather. He never met a person that he didn't consider a friend. He enjoyed fishing in later years, with his friends. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Erika; sons, Garry Vidrine, Floyd Vidrine; daughter, Alexis Vidrine; sister, Margaret Fontonet; four grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
