Jo Ann Vann

Jo Ann Vann, 78 of Lampasas, Texas died Friday December 7, 2018 at home. She was born March 30, 1940 in Lampasas, TX the daughter of Elijah Moore Rainwater and Lois Louise (Hendrix) Rainwater. Jo Ann completed school and went on to business college and later graduated from real estate school. She worked for many years in the accounting field and office management for air conditioning company and oil filed company. She married Vaughn Vann July 4, 1957 and they lived in Odessa for many years. She moved back to Lampasas many years ago and was a member of First Baptist Church, Daughters of the Republic of Texas and Lampasas Historical Commission. Jo Ann enjoyed her church family, Bible study, her family, playing 84, traveling, fishing, family reunions, outdoor activities, cooking and baking. She is survived by her husband, Vaughn Vann of Lampasas Son, Tony Vann of Lampasas Leah Thornton and husband Weldon of New Braunfels 2 grandchildren; Nicholas Ray Thornton and Kayla Michelle Thornton Meadows (Mark) 4 great-grandchildren; Hunter Lynn Thornton, Jeremiah Vann Meadows, Dylan Rae Meadows, Leah Michelle Meadows.   She was preceded in death by her parents, by brother, Bill Rainwater.   Funeral service will be Saturday December 15, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday December 14, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel.
