Jimmie Lynn Davis, 80, passed away on January 14, 2025, at Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas.  He was born on June 8, 1944, in Cherokee, Oklahoma to Jimmie and Naomi (Soft) Davis.

Jimmie grew up in Carmen, OK.  He graduated from Carmen High School in Carmen, OK in 1962.  After high school, he attended The University of Houston College of Optometry in Houston, TX where he received his Doctor of Optometry in 1973.  He was a member of the Army Medical Corps.  Jimmy practiced optometry for 51 years in OK, MO, and TX.  He also practiced part-time in Goldthwaite, TX with the Hamilton Healthcare System until 2025.  Jimmy was also a proud lifetime member of the NRA.

Jimmie married Kay in 1981, in Enid, OK.  They were happily married for 43 years.  He enjoyed flying, being a horse show dad, spending time with his grandsons, driving his tractor on his ranch, and spending quiet evenings with his wife and their dogs.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Naomi.

Jimmie is survived by his spouse, Kay of Copperas Cove, TX; his children, Stephanie Moss and husband David of Ada, OK, Tara Davis of Copperas Cove, TX and Josh Davis and wife Robin of Abilene, TX; his stepson, Tony Montoya; his brothers, Sam Davis and wife Connie of Beaumont, TX and Bruce Davis and wife Virginia of Orange, TX; his grandchildren, Makayla Moss, Caleb Moss, Corbin Montoya, and Kolin Montoya; his nieces and nephews, Andrea Davis, Jonathon Davis, and Kristen Herzog.
