Jim Blount age 70 of Copperas Cove, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at his home.
Services with military honors will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, with Chaplain Shawn Perry officiating.
Jim was born on March 16, 1942 in Palatka, Florida, to the late Russell and Ruby Poppell Blount. He served in the US Army in Vietnam. He married Sandy Queen in Copperas Cove on August 6, 1976. He worked for Cablevision in Copperas Cove for 25 years. He was a life member of the VFW Post 8577 in Copperas Cove.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy of Copperas Cove; sons, J.W. Blount and wife Christy, Brandon Blount and wife Christina all of Huntsville; brother, Michael Blount of Clearwater, FL; and two grandchildren.
