On Tuesday morning, July 31, 2018, Jesus Rubianes, 85, was called into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was blessed with peaceful sleep during the final hours of his life. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
Jesus was born on January 21, 1933, to the late Jose Rubianes and Tomasa Cruz in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. He was a humble and faithful Christian man; a gentle soul, always ready with a warm smile and a reassuring hand. Honesty and compassion were his hallmarks. As a husband and father, he willingly sacrificed for his family. A considerate man to the end, he put himself out for others rather than to expect the same for himself. These and many other qualities proved him much stronger than he ever accepted. In turn, he was blessed with a clear mind through his last hours.
Jesus was preceded in death by Ana, his wife of 50 years, five brothers, and one sister.
He is survived by his children, Gary Rubianes and wife, Evelyn, Sharon Rubianes Akrie and husband, Cory Akrie; grandsons, Gary X. Rubianes and wife, Ashley, Jesse T. Rubianes; one great-grandson, D'Nikko Rubianes; two sisters; four brothers; numerous nieces and nephews.
Papa, we’ll miss you until the end of our days. Rest easy until we all walk together again in heaven, singing praises unto Lord God for His wondrous grace and mercy.
