SFC Jeremias S. Ignacio, US Army (Ret.) age 69 of Copperas Cove passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 in Ft. Hood. The family will receive visitors from 10 AM to 4 PM Saturday (Feb 22), 3 PM to 6 PM Sunday (Feb 23), and 12 noon to 2 PM Monday (Feb 24) at Scott’s Funeral Home. The interment with full military honors will be at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at 3 PM Monday February 24, 2014.
Mr. Ignacio was born on May 25, 1944 in Angeles City, Philippines to the late Leoncio and Honorata Ignacio. He grew up in Angeles City and graduated from Republic Central College. He entered the US Army in the 1970s, and retired as a Sergeant First Class with over 20 years of service.
He was an active member of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) serving as a deacon or head deacon at the many congregations of the church worldwide that his tour of duties in the US Army brought him; including his last home locale of Copperas Cove.
He is survived by his wife, Luz Ignacio; three sons, Ramil Ignacio and wife Jenny Ignacio, Joel Ignacio and wife Crystal Ignacio, Jessie Ignacio and Honeylynne Pascual; siblings, Emmy Schlegelmilch, Paul Ignacio, and Patricia Negrete; 5 grandchildren, Kamil Ignacio, Kaila Ignacio, Keanu Ignacio, Leon Ignacio, and baby Ignacio.
