Jeff C. Hunter

Jeff C. Hunter, 66, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020, at his home in Kempner, Texas.

Interment at Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, Kansas will be scheduled at a later date.

Jeff was born on December 26, 1954, to Clayton G. and Audrey L. Hunter in Tribune, Kansas, graduating from Greeley County High School in 1973.  After high school, Jeff attended Colby Community College.  He married Jolene Akers in 1974.  To this marriage, they had JD Todd Hunter and Jandy Jo Hunter.  Jeff worked with his father and mother in the trucking business until 1978.  His love of trucking and rodeo led him to work for the Hudson Rodeo Company for several years until 1993.  Jeff went on to keep his own trucking company until 2015.  

He met Susan and after a long courtship, they were married on February 26, 1999, in Oakland, Nebraska.  He supported her through her career with the United States Army until 2015 when they both retired.  Jeff was preceded in death by his parents and son, JD.

Survivors include his wife, Susan; children, Jandy, Detrick (Becky) Thomas, Michelle Thomas, Jennifer (Byron) Eaton; grandchildren, Jessie C. Hunter, Jaiden (Garrett) Adams, J'asia Stoddard, Jyma Stoddard, Domonic Thomas, Kristopher Thomas, Sophie Thomas, Hawke Thomas, Erianna Thomas, Taylor Thomas, Colt Eaton, Storm Eaton, Ashley Eaton; sister, Sheila (Jason) Quick and nephew, Jaxon Quick.
