Jean Sutton

Erma Jean Sutton, 85 of Lampasas, TX died Saturday April 21, 2018 at Lampasas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.She was born November 7, 1932 in Mills County, TX (Regency Community) to Ernest K. Wood and Nina D. (Kight) Wood. Jean grew up one of ten children on a farm. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1956 with a Bachelor’s degree. She married Bob Sutton in 1982 and was a housewife. Jean was a member of First Baptist Church in Lampasas. She also was a member of the Ladies Golf Association, the Bridge Club and Volunteered at Rollins Brook Community Hospital for 25 years. She was instrumental in starting the Lampasas Mission. She and Bob had played golf in 21 states and 6 foreign countries. She is survived by her husband, Bob Sutton Children; Tom Sutton, Phil Sutton, Susan Sutton, Fairlyn Henry Sister, Anna Bell Egger 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren also survive   She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sons; Bart and Dirk Henry, and by 8 siblings.   Funeral service will be Wednesday April 25, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Lampasas. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Tuesday April 24, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be sent to the Lampasas Mission.
