Janese Upton Lancaster

Janese Upton Lancaster, 95 of Lampasas, TX died Thursday August 30, 2018 at a local nursing home. She was born June 18, 1923 near Izoro, TX (Coryell County) to parents Ira Upton and Odelia (Hayes) Upton. Janese graduated from Evant High School as Salutatorian and later married Thomas A. Lancaster. They were married until his death in September 2004. Janese had lived in this area all of her life, with the exception of while Thomas served in the military at 2 duty stations. Janese was an active member of First Street Church of Christ in Lampasas, where she taught Bible classes for decades. She loved God. She and Thomas went on several mission trips. She loved to entertain, cook, sew, garden and write. She also was dedicated to hosting every visiting preacher at her home for a meal. She is survived by her Sons, Trent Lancaster (Mona), Dale Lancaster, Zane Lancaster (Libby), Tom Lancaster Daughter, Connie Mallett (Mike) Brother, Conrad Upton Sister, Bonnie Davis 12 grandchildren; Chelsa Istre (Creg), Melia Lancaster, Tara Mallett, Cassidy Stapp, Brandon Lancaster (Patty), Alandra Teodorescu (Danny), Clint Lancaster (Mitzi), Lyndsay Henson (Steve), Britt Lancaster (Deborah), Riley Lancaster, Aspen Roberts, Alicia Green (Todd) 19 great-grandchildren; Sierra, Sterling, Samantha and Steele Istre, Adree and Koh Stapp, Brynn and Brance Workman, Avery , Brendan, Cash Lancaster, Mia Lancaster, Kalyn, Kenzie, Bryson, Braden Roberts, Weston, Wyatt and Walker Green.   She was preceded in death by her husband and by 5 sisters and 2 brothers.   Funeral service will be Sunday September 2, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at First Street Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Smith School Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church building.
