James (Jim) Nicolaas Timmer, Sr. passed away at age 71 on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at St.David’s Hospital in Round Rock, TX losing his 6 month battle with small cell lung cancer. He was born March 4, 1949 in Surabaya, Indonesia to parents Nicolaas Timmer and Juliana Elodie Marlisa, but considered his step-mother, Suzanna G. Timmer, as his mother. James spent his younger years in Boston, MA. At 23, deciding that working as a CPA intern wasn't for him, he picked up his family and moved to Houston, TX to follow his dream of becoming a truck driver. James moved to Lampasas 5 years ago and lived there until he passed. In addition to being a truck driver by trade, James was a mechanic and construction worker, and enjoyed fishing and working with his hands. He leaves behind his partner of 26 years, Edna Sue Marney, of Lampasas, TX; 6 siblings: SISTER Irene Jenny (Timmer) Gurney and her husband, Frederick "Rick" Gurney, of Lampasas, TX; BROTHER Eduard Jan Timmer of Lampasas, TX; HALF-BROTHER Richard "Dickey" Marlisa of the Netherlands; HALF-SISTER Froukje Jeanette Timmer of South Easton, MA; HALF-SISTER Nicoline "Nikki" H. Timmer Lavoie and her husband, Steven Lavoie, of Raynham, MA; HALF-SISTER Christine "Chrissy" S. Timmer of South Easton, MA; 6 children: DAUGHTER Raquel Leilani (Timmer) Wise and her husband, Christopher "Chris" Michael Wise, of San Diego, CA; SON James Nicolaas Timmer, Jr. of Leonardtown, MD; DAUGHTER Josselyn Scarlett Timmer and her significant other, Joel Jordan, of Waterbury, CT; SON Jared Elvis Timmer and his significant other, Kerri Lynn, of Fall River, MA; DAUGHTER Katie of Houston, TX; and "STEP-DAUGHTER" Sonya Marney; 6 nieces and nephews: NEPHEW Michael Alberto Timmer and his wife, Robbie D. Timmer, of Tow, TX; NEPHEW Richard "Rich" William Gurney of Cypress, TX; NEPHEW Nicolaas "Nick" Fransis Gurney of Houston, TX; NEPHEW Anthony J. Bello and his wife, Carol A. (Correia) Bello, of New Ipswich, NH; NIECE Charline S. (Bello) Pinola of Raynham, MA; and NIECE Stephanie (Lavoie) Gilson and her husband, Kyle Gilson, of Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA; 15 grandchildren: GRANDSON Shane Michael Beck and his wife, Ivette "Eva" Cristine Aguirre-Beck, of Chicago, IL; GRANDSON Austin Lee Beck of San Diego, CA; GRANDDAUGHTER Jay'Da Moet Brewer of Waterbury, CT; GRANDSON Jared Jordan Timmer of Brockton, MA; GRANDSON Ethan Ellis Wise of Fairchild Air Force Base, WA; GRANDSON Jake Nicolaas Timmer of Morgantown, WV; GRANDDAUGHTER Savannah Lynn Timmer of Columbia, SC (USC); GRANDSON Aiden Reece Wise of San Diego, CA; GRANDDAUGHTER Jianna Jordan of Waterbury, CT; GRANDSON Joel Jordan of Waterbury, CT; GRANDSON Xzavier Jay Mason of Fall River, MA; GRANDSON Brendon Alexander Wise of San Diego, CA; GRANDDAUGHTER Leianna Elise Wise of San Diego, CA; GRANDDAUGHTER Jordynn Elizabeth Timmer of Fall River, MA; and GRANDSON Jason Jordan of Waterbury, CT; and other relatives. James was preceded in death by his father, Nicolaas; by step-mom ("mom"), Suzanna; by mother, Juliana; by sister, Elodie; and by granddaughter Justice. His absence has created a void that will never be filled. The day of interment will be Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery Columbarium, space A5. Funeral rites will be performed by Chaplain John Ellis of Round Rock, TX.
