James (Jim) Nicolaas Timmer, Sr. passed away at age 71 on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at St.David’s Hospital in Round Rock, TX losing his 6 month battle with small cell lung cancer. He was born March 4, 1949 in Surabaya, Indonesia to parents Nicolaas Timmer and Juliana Elodie Marlisa, but considered his step-mother, Suzanna G. Timmer, as his mother. James spent his younger years in Boston, MA. At 23, deciding that working as a CPA intern wasn't for him, he picked up his family and moved to Houston, TX to follow his dream of becoming a truck driver. James moved to Lampasas 5 years ago and lived there until he passed. In addition to being a truck driver by trade, James was a mechanic and construction worker, and enjoyed fishing and working with his hands. James was preceded in death by his father, Nicolaas; by step-mom ("mom"), Suzanna; by mother, Juliana; by sister, Elodie; and by granddaughter Justice. His absence has created a void that will never be filled. The day of interment will be Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery Columbarium, space A5. Funeral rites will be performed by Chaplain John Ellis of Round Rock, TX.
