James Michael Statham

James Michael Statham, age 59 of Austin, passed away peacefully on the evening of December 12, 2023, surrounded by friends and family. James will be laid to rest in Copperas Cove Cemetery, at 1:00 pm, Thursday, December 21, 2023.

James was born on October 9, 1964, in Austin, to the late Bobby Gene Statham and Louise Gamble Statham. He grew up and attended school in the Austin area. After school James had a few jobs here and there, before he landed one of the best jobs for him, being a "Stage Manager" at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin. Any big name that came through on tour from Country Music Artist to Rock and Roll Band, James led them around from dressing to stage making sure they were on time for all their sets and making sure all of their request were taken care of. He was well known by some of the biggest stars in the business. James enjoyed singing, no matter who was listening, and could often be found skillfully and rhythmically banging away on a set of drums. His absence will leave a void that cannot be replaced...he will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

James is survived by his children, daughter, Melissa and son, James; sister, Terri; and brother, Walter.
