Funeral services are scheduled for Mr. James R. Cobb 68, (SFC Retired) of Copperas Cove, on Monday, December 21, 2009 at 12:30p.m., at the Sheppard Chapel of Memories, with Captain Ben Ellington officiating. Internment will follow at 2:00p.m., at the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Visitation will be Sunday evening 6-8P.M., 12/20/2009. Mr. Cobb passed away December 16, 2009 in Bruceville Eddy, Texas He was born June 9, 1941 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the union of Hershel Theodore Cobb and Roxie Ball Cobb. He married Emma Gross on November 25, 1960 in Germany. They were married 49 years and 21 days. He was retired from the United States Army, after serving 21 years. He earned the National Defense Service Medal; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; Army Commendation medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters; Korean Presidential Unit Citation; Good Conduct Medal, Clasp, Silver; Expert (rifle) Meritorious Service Medal. Four Great-Grandchildren, Cheyenne, Seth, Emmalee and Christopher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hershel Cobb and Roxie Ball Cobb.
