James Edward Benoist

James Edward Benoist, 96, of Lampasas, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024, at his home in Lampasas. 

Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel Lampasas on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 5 pm to 7 pm.  Services will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 1 pm at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Bend Sand Hill Cemetery.

James was born on December 5, 1927, in Lampasas, TX to Ben Dudley Benoist and Mabel Clara (Spurlin) Benoist.  He served his country in the United States Navy and afterward was head of DFE at Fort Hood as a master electrician.  After he retired from this position he ran his own small residential electric business.  He loved to hunt and especially enjoyed fishing.  He and his wife Lenora spent quite a bit of time fishing on the Colorado River after their retirement.  Most importantly James was a family man and loved spending time with them.  

James was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Lenora Jean Benoist and his son, Nolan Ernest Pryor.

Survivors include his son, Darrell Pryor, his daughter-in-law, Ruth Zwicker and her family, and his great-grandsons, Dillon Pryor and Dalton Pryor.
