James Arnold Ayers was born in Austin, TX 4-22-1958 to Jessie James Ayers and Belva Jean (Manning) Ayers. He died 2-11-2018. After attending Lanier High School, he held various jobs including delivering for Coca-Cola and office products and working in the oil fields. But, for most of his adult life, he drove big trucks. If it could start, he could drive it. My family always said that in an emergency situation, they wanted James to drive. James loved hunting and fishing, camping and just being in the outdoors. But, his passion was his children. Nothing meant more to James than family, including his very large extended family. When James loved, he loved forever, which is why he is still friends with his childhood buddies. But, God needed someone to go fishing with, so He called James home. James was preceded in death by his brother, Paul. He is survived by his parents, Jessie and Jean (Manning) Ayers; his wife, Jeanne; his daughter, Jennifer; his son, Jeremy; his step-son, David Garza II; his granddaughter, Alexa; his brother, John; his sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Dennis Herbst; nephew, Jordan Herbst and wife Jordy and nieces, Jessie Herbst and Kelly (Zack) Criddle. Visitation is Friday February 16, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral service is Saturday February 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Hillsdale Cemetery near Izoro.
