Ida Jean Belyeu of Lometa died peacefully in Georgetown at the Wesleyan at Scenic on August 16, 2019 at the age of 93 years. She had been a resident there for approximately three and a half years. She was born to Allen and Perll Reese Joiner in Amarillo on November 28, 1925. She was reared by her grandparents and educated in Bartlett, Texas. She married Leonard D. Belyeu in Bartlett on December 24, 1943. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 32 years and retired in 1983. She lived in Bartlett, Temple and Belton before moving to Lometa, Texas to be closer to family. She was a member of the Lometa United Methodist Church and enjoyed music. She is survived by her brother, Bob and wife Amaryllis Joiner of Arkansas, son, Wayne and wife Kathy Belyeu of Lometa; daughter, Brenda and husband Jim Green of Georgetown, ten grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Allen, Reese and Charles Joiner, son Robert (Bobby) Belyeu, husband Leonard Belyeu, and son Richard (Ricky) Belyeu. Visitation will be at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at McDade Cemetery on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Tim Brewer of the Lometa United Methodist Church will preside. A memorial service at the Lometa United Methodist Church will be scheduled at a later date.
