Harold Wayne King Sr. - a beloved husband, father, and friend - passed away on January 12, 2024, in Copperas Cove, TX. Born on July 16, 1957, in Alabama, Harold lived a life filled with joy, adventure, and a passion for collecting things.
Harold was an outgoing individual with a larger-than-life personality. His cheerful nature and warm smile made him an instant friend to all who crossed his path. He had a natural ability to strike up conversations with people from all walks of life and loved hearing their stories. Harold's genuine interest in others made him a truly special person.
In addition to being an avid collector of various items, Harold was also known as a skilled scraper. He had an eye for seeing the hidden value in what others considered junk. His ability to transform discarded objects into coveted treasures brought him immense happiness and fulfillment. Harold often said, "One man's junk is another man's treasure," and he lived by those words every day.
After high school, Harold dedicated nine years of his life to serving his country in the United States Army. He served with honor and distinction and was eventually honorably discharged from his military service.
Family meant the world to Harold, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He leaves behind many grieving hearts including his stepmother, Edna Qualls, sister, Susie King, aunt, Verlina King, brothers, Jackie King, James Qualls Jr., and Terrance Qualls, and son Harold King Jr. His presence will be greatly missed by all of them. Those that preceded Harold in death, his father, Bubba Qualls, mother Edna Mead, stepfather William Mead, and wife, Sandra King.
Harold's legacy will continue to live on through the memories shared by those fortunate enough to have known him. His vibrant spirit and zest for life were contagious and inspired countless individuals throughout his journey.
A memorial service will be held on February 23, 2024. The event will take place at the address 11463 TX-195 in Killeen, TX. The service will commence at 3:00 PM and conclude at 4:00 PM, providing an opportunity for family, friends, and acquaintances to come together to celebrate Harold's remarkable life.
As we mourn the loss of Harold Wayne King Sr., let us also rejoice in the memories we shared with him. Though he may no longer be physically present, his spirit will forever remain engraved in our hearts. May his soul find eternal peace, knowing that he touched so many lives and left an indelible mark on this world.
