Linda Schoonover, 80, of Copperas Cove passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church at 518 U.S. 190 in Copperas Cove with burial following at the Copperas Cove City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Tuesday at Scott’s Funeral Home of Copperas Cove.
Linda was born in Speyer, Germany to the late Friedrich and Emma Lensch Ruth. She was born during one of the most difficult times in German history. She attended school in Germany before meeting Alert Schoonover who would bring her to the states. They met while she was working at the Post snack bar. They married in Kaiserslautern, Germany and later settled in Copperas Cove. She enjoyed helping with the Sausage Fest and with Vacation Bible School every year. Linda was most of proud of her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Boyd Schooover.
Linda is survived by her son, Lester Schoonover and wife, Deborah Jo of Copperas Cove; daughter, Gabi Toole and husband, Scott of Idaho; grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael, Heather, Joshua, Matthew, and Emma along with 5 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stoney Brook Assisted Living, 1808 Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr., Copperas Cove, TX 76522.
