Gerard David King, beloved brother, son, father, and friend to many went to soar with the angels on July 31, 2024.
He was a lover and player of music and a talented artist. A king and gentle soul, Jerry was liked by almost everyone he met. He never reached the pinnacle of his talents in this life, but maybe in the next. Later in his life, he lived alone and liked to read and collect books as well as other odds and ends. His two dogs were his companions and he loved them dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis C. and Maureen A. King, and his wife Kathy Mahan King. May they join hands once again in laughter and song and be forever at peace.
Jerry will be and already is greatly missed by his remaining family. He is survived by his sisters, Kathleen (Jack) Myers, and Denise (Ron) Hofmann in Michigan; his nephew, Matthew Hofmann; his daughters, Rebecca and Cassie Marie and their children; two aunts from the East side of the state, Carol Reilly and Sharon Ruzycki and numerous cousins.
He is also survived by his very special caregivers in Texas, his sister, Mary, and her daughter, Emily Valentour, who were there for him at his worst times, and a special thanks to John Valentour, whose help Jerry most appreciated as well as their children, Machelle and LJ (Little John) Valentour, both who were very fond of their "Uncle JJ" and he enjoyed their company thoroughly. I know Jerry would like a special remembrance to Emmett Michael Roberts who was a longtime friend of his in Texas.
