Geri Ray, 76, of Copperas Cove passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 29, 2016 at Scott's Funeral Home of Copperas Cove with visitation an hour prior to the service.
Geri was born on June 25, 1939 in Danville, IL to the late Ishmael and Charlotte Bonnet Shelato. She attended Danville High School and later married Gordon (Bud) Ray in August of 1956. Geri traveled and supported her husband's career which lead them to Texas in 1974. She was a teller at Fort Hood National Bank and was a bookkeeper at the National Bank for a number of years. After her husband's retirement they moved to Las Vegas for 10 years and enjoyed traveling. She moved back to Copperas Cove after his death. After moving back, Geri was involved with the Eastern Star, a member of Grace United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Geri was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and her brothers, Daniel Shelato and Michael Shelato.
Geri is survived by her daughter, Kim Stock and husband, Alvin and his brother, Anthony Stock; brother, Larry Shelato and wife, Sandy; grandchildren, Jason Polmanteer and wife, Lissa, Justin Stock and girlfriend, Amber Dannels; great grandchildren, Caden and Dylan Polmanteer, Brogan Downs and Jaxon Stock, who is due in September and many nieces and nephews and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Grace United Methodist Church, 101 W Avenue F, Copperas Cove, TX 76522 or to the Shriners Hospital, Cove Oasis Shrine Club, Attn: Vince Blackburn, P.O. Box 1342 Copperas Cove, TX 76522.
