Francisca Rodriguez

April 9, 1923 — September 24, 2019

Francisca Palacios Rodríguez was received into the arms of Our Lord on September 24, 2019 surrounded by her family. Our beloved mother was born on April 9, 1923 in La Estanzuela, Nuevo León, México. She married Jose Lara Rodriguez in June 1947 in Monterrey, Mexico. In 1957, they left Monterrey and moved to Round Rock, Texas, where the family grew to thirteen children. Francisca was a very devout Christian and an active parishioner at St. William’s Catholic Church where she was a member of various ministries. She was a homemaker with various other jobs and retired in 1990. She and her husband moved to Lometa, Texas in 1993 where she spent the rest of her life and was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Lometa.   Francisca was a true inspiration to her family and all who knew her. She will be remembered for having lived a devout Christian life and was a ray of sunshine and hope to anyone who was fortunate to know her. Not only was Francisca a wonderful wife, mother, and friend, she also made time to help others in their time of need. She will be greatly missed and happily remembered by her family, friends and all who knew her. Our greatest comfort lies in knowing that she is in our Lord’s Divine Kingdom.   Francisca was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Jose Lara Rodriguez, her parents Felicitos and Rumualda Rodriguez, her 4 siblings and son-in-law Mitchell M. Martin. She is survived by her 13 children, Dora and husband Charles Nichols of Lometa, Maria and husband Mike Rogers of Round Rock, Jesse Rodriguez and wife Ninfa of Round Rock, Damaso Rodriguez and wife Carla of Victoria, Gloria Rodriguez Martin widow of Mitchell Martin of Lometa, Jose Gumaro Rodriguez and wife Joyce of Round Rock, Raul Palacios Rodriguez of Monterrey, Mexico, Christina and husband Joey Button of The Hills, Maria and husband Mike Keefer of Rose Hill, Kansas, Robert Rodriguez and wife Teresa of Austin, Juanita and husband Jesus Gomez of Idabel, Oklahoma, Frederick Rodriguez of Round Rock, and John Paul Rodriguez of Round Rock. Francisca is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren.   Francisca’s family would like to thank Solaris Hospice and Goldthwaite Health and Rehab for their deep dedication in caring for our beloved mother. Rosary will be recited at 5:00 pm on Monday, September 30th at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas followed by visitation from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be at 10 am on Tuesday, October 1st at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lampasas followed by the graveside service at 1:00 pm at Cook Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
