Fidel Paredez, a husband, father, son, brother, and friend, has passed away on October 23, 2023. Born on January 7, 1945, Fidel lived a truly remarkable life. He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy that will be forever etched in the hearts of all who knew him.

Fidel was known for his no-nonsense approach to life. He had a quick wit and a reliable nature that made him not only loved but also highly respected by those around him. His sense of humor was infectious and could brighten even the darkest of days.

Aside from family, one of Fidel's proudest accomplishments was his military career. He served in the United States Army for over 20 years, rising through the ranks to become a Master Sergeant. During his service, Fidel received numerous medals and honors for his dedication and commitment to his country. His list of accolades included the Army Service Ribbon, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Meritorious Service Medal. Fidel's bravery and selflessness earned him the admiration of his fellow servicemen and women.

Outside of his military service, Fidel found joy in the camaraderie among his associates at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). He valued the bonds forged there and treasured the lifelong friendships he made.

Fidel will be deeply missed by his surviving family members: Nancy, his wife; Fidel Jr., Fidel H., and Linda Sue, his children; Beatriz, his sister and numerous nieces and nephews. Fidel was preceded in death by Ernesto and Herminia Paredez his parents; Salvador Paredez and Abel Paredez his brothers.

To honor Fidel's life and commemorate his achievements, a Graveside Service will take place on November 9, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery on 11463 TX-195 in Killeen, TX. Friends and family are encouraged to gather to pay their respects and celebrate the incredible legacy that Fidel has left behind. The service will be followed by a time of reflection and remembrance.

While we mourn the loss of Fidel Paredez, let us also celebrate the vibrant life he led. May his memory serve as an inspiration to us all to live with dedication, courage, and a sense of humor. Fidel's warm heart, unwavering loyalty, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends will forever be missed but never forgotten.
