Ferne Berry

Ferne I. Berry, 87, of Kempner passed away on Friday, November 28, 2014 in Temple. Graveside Services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with Rev. Thomas Edwards officiating. There will not be a visitation.

Ferne was born on July 10, 1927 in Sunbury, PA to the late James and Gladys Rothermel Maurer. After receiving her education, she worked several years for the Dept of the Navy. During this time, she volunteered to serve in Austria where she met and married her husband, James Berry in 1955. Ferne supported him as he served in the United States Army. She dedicated her life to her husband and her children. Ferne will be remembered for her love of roses which she planted in every house they lived in all over the world.

Ferne was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Ferne is survived by her children, Duane Berry of Kempner and Allison Berry of Baltimore, MD; and her sister, Joan Harris of Kempner.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Centex Humane Society, 5501 S. Clear Creek Road, Killeen, TX 76549.
