Ethel Barnes

Ethel Barnes, age 82, of Lampasas passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM, on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Scott's Funeral Home of Copperas Cove with burial following at the Copperas Cove City Cemetery. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service.

Ethel was born on July 22, 1935, in Monroe, LA to the late Joe Barnes, Sr and Eliza Bingham Barnes. She graduated from Newellton High School in Newellton, LA. After high school, she also attended beauty school and became a beautician. Ethel was also an excellent seamstress and homemaker. As a young lady, she accepted Christ as her Lord and was a member of the Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church in New Orleans, LA. In 2006, she relocated to Lampasas, Texas.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sharon Smith; two sisters and three brothers.

Ethel is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Barnes, Linda Batiste; son, Kelvin Barnes; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
