Eric Simpson

Eric Stephen Simpson, age 47, of Kempner went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 20, 2020. A memorial service will be held Monday, March 29, 2021, at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of Kempner, 11965 U.S. Hwy 190, Kempner, TX 76539. Social distancing guidelines will be observed.

Eric was born on February 27, 1973, to David A. Simpson and Carolyn Carter Simpson in Kittery, Maine. He graduated from Wayne High School in Huber Heights, OH in 1991. After high school, he joined the United States Army and served in Germany and the USA. Eric briefly became a long-haul truck driver before beginning work as a contractor for ESP on Fort Hood. This assignment took him to Iraq many times over several years beginning in 2002. Eric was currently employed with Semper Valens Solutions on Ft. Hood.

Eric attended First Baptist Church of Kempner and his heart for service led him to be very active in the Copperas Cove Moose Lodge and Moose Riders Club working on many projects to help fund Mooseheart and Moosehaven year after year. He thoroughly enjoyed family and friends, riding his motorcycle and reading.

Eric was preceded in death by his father, David A. Simpson; and brother, Shawn E. Crane.

Eric is survived by his mother, Carolyn Simpson Crane and husband, Robert, of Kempner;  step-mother, Eunice Simpson of Medway, OH; brothers, Michael Simpson and wife, Bonita, of Lerona, WV; Ronald Crane and wife, Kathleen, of Elizabeth, CO; Braven Blackwell of Fairborn, OH; Phillip Liles of Basset, VA; Daniel Simpson of Parklane, OH; nieces, Kelly Simpson, of King George, VA and Aaliyah Liles of Basset, VA; and a nephew, Cody Liles of Madison, AL; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

This gentle, caring man will be overwhelmingly missed by his family and friends.
