Elliot Glen Pope, 59, passed away on January 19, 2025, at his home in Lampasas, Texas. He was born on May 21, 1965, in Fort Worth, Texas to Philip and Anita Pope.
Funeral services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel Lampasas on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at 3pm with visitation an hour prior. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Elliot grew up in Newark, TX. He attended school at North West, where he graduated with honors and was presented a scholarship to attend college. In the North West High year book he was voted for being most courteous. He was popular, handsome, and protective, and all the boys knew not to mess with his little sisters. Elliot went on to attend Baylor University in Waco before meeting the love of his life.
Elliot married Tammie Lee Watson on September 21, 1991 in Burleson, Texas. They were happily married for 34 years. Tammie was Elliot's first and last love, a true and rare case of love at first sight. Elliot was most likely charming, flirtatious and joking around as he always was, but he told Tammie he had 4 children (he had none). But the joke was on him! In the end, he did in fact raise 4 children together with the love of his life through thick and thin.
As a husband and father, Elliot was always available and there when needed. He was a hard worker, tended to the gardening, home repairs and the drama that came with living in a house full of girls and one son. He was a wise advisor and very protective of his family. He loved his daughters more than anything, but was truly blessed with happiness when his son Elliot was born.
Elliot was a boxer growing up and obtained many trophies and broken noses before becoming a Master Electrician. It was most likely his boxing days that trained him to become the protector he was to his family.
(Core Memory from his children)
Dad had an old red 91' Chevy truck for as long as we can remember that was passed down from his father. As kids, we would ride in the back seat of his "Big Red" and Dad would blare rock music that he would sing along with us too! We could always see him smiling and looking through the rearview mirror at us all. With all the windows rolled down, just cruising through town and music playing loud he would repeatedly say "Fire it up Big Red!" "Woooo". So, Elliot Glen Pope, from your family to you on your trip and stay in heaven with your daughter Corinna Pope, Turn it up and "Fire it up Big Red".
Elliot Glen Pope was so much to so many people, he was loved by his family, nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was the best granddad to his grandchildren. He was happiest when surrounded by his grandkids. He will be missed by all and we know he will be watching over us in Heaven.
Elliot was preceded in death by his daughter, Corinna Nadine Pope.
