Services for Retired SFC Eldon Kring will be at 1:00p.m., November 24, 2009, Tuesday at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with Full Military Honors. Mr. Kring passed away Saturday November 21, 2009 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. He was born September 2, 1925 in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of Bert Kring and Agnes Taylor Kring. On April 1, 1948 he married Edna Charlene Shue in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They were married 61 years, 7 months and 20 days. Eldon was retired from the United States Army after 23 years, 9 months of service. He received the National Defense Service Medal w/oak leaf cluster, Good Conduct medal (4 times), Vietnam Service Medal & Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was a protestant. After retirement he raised a few coins on his ranch and enjoyed life and family. Loving Family Wife, Edna Kring of Kempner, Texas Son, David L. Kring and wife Sharon of Sherman, Texas Grandson, Geoffrey Kring of Sherman, Texas Sister, Billie Wormington of Pierce City, Missouri He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Agnes Kring and two sisters, Margaret Kennedy and Betty Schmidt. Visitation will be 6 to 8p.m., Monday, November 23, 2009 at the funeral home.
