Edith Conner

Edith Auguste Conner, age 83 of Copperas Cove, left this world on the morning of October 5, 2022.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, October 24, 2022, at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

Edith was born on April 14, 1939, in Germany, to the late Emil Kokoschka and Frieda Kuhn Kokoschka. She grew up and graduated from school in Germany. She went to work at a sewing factory right out of high school, where she worked for a few years before going to work in a factory that made toy race cars. She met Jerry Conner on March 16, 1960, in Karlsruhe, Germany. They were married on November 30, 1962, in Karlsruhe, Germany.  On November 23, 1963, Jerry, and Edith moved from Germany to Central Texas. For 15 years Jerry and Edith moved back and forth between Texas and Germany. Finally, in 1977 they moved to Copperas Cove where they decided to settle down. Edith became an American citizen in 1980. Jerry and Edith loved to travel and would take numerous vacations over their long marriage. She was an avid bowler and a member of several bowling leagues. Edith also loved playing bingo and enjoyed spending time with friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Frieda Kokoschka.

Edith is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jerry Conner.
