Earl William Kelley

Earl William Kelley, 78, of Lometa, passed away on May 9, 2022 at Lily Springs Nursing & Rehabilitation in Lampasas, Texas.  He was born on March 1, 1944, in San Saba, Texas to Lawrence and Rosie Leach Kelley.

Funeral services will be held at the Lometa Church of Christ on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 11 am with a reception to follow.  Interment will be private.

Earl grew up in San Saba and Lometa, Texas.  He worked in the wool and mohair industry early in his adult life before beginning a career with BNSF Railroad that lasted 35 years, until his retirement in 2004.

Earl married Sissy Carriger in 1964 in Brownwood, Texas and they were happily married for 58 years.  He was a member of the Baptist faith and loved gardening, raising cows, NASCAR, spending time with his family, and driving his tractor at the Texas K Ranch.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Rosie; his brothers, Raymond, Dan, and Bill Kelley; his sister, Lois Green, and granddaughter, Kimberly Shaw.

Survivors include his spouse, Sissy of Lometa, Texas; his son, William, and wife Leslie Kelley of Priddy, Texas; his daughter, Susan, and husband John Hines of Lometa, Texas; his sisters, Flossie Woodward of San Saba, Mary Childers of San Saba, Eddie Lee Harbour of Goldthwaite; his grandchildren, Cole, and wife Carolin Kelley of Copperas Cove, Kassie and husband Wesley Kepler of Lometa, Kayla and husband Jim Maxwell of Richmond, Shelby Kelley, and her fiance Dalton Bertram of Huntsville, Colton Harrison, Cody Sanguinet, Mason Hines and his girlfriend Carlee Pascual, Holly Hines, Colbi Sanguinet; his great-grandchildren, Reagan Maxwell, Austin Kepler, Lexi Kelley, Barrett Cantu, McKenna Kepler, Jaxon Maxwell, Kyla Kepler, Madisyn Maxwell, Memphis Maxwell and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations are made to the Lampasas County Livestock Association, PO Box 504, Lampasas, TX, 76550.
