Duane "Dewey" Allan Dobbs

Dewey Dobbs died unexpectedly in Lampasas on Monday, December 4, 2017. He was 61 years old. He is survived by two sisters: Terry Monty of Hamilton, NY, and Barb Dobbs, Lampasas, Tx. He is also survived by brother in law Mark Monty and sister in law Michele France Dobbs. He was loved as "Uncle Dewey" by his 3 nieces and 1 nephew, and by their 5 children. He is also survived by many friends who he considered to be family. Dewey was preceded in death by his parents: Barbara and Barney Dobbs, and by a brother, F. Gary Dobbs. He was a graduate of Moline Senior High school in Moline, Il. Dewey was a longtime resident of Lampasas, where he worked in the construction field. He was generous with his time and was an active volunteer for several local organizations, including the Central Texas Treatment Center in Granger Texas, Alcoholics Anonymous, and St. Mary’s Church where he where he served as an acolyte . Dewey enjoyed listening to music, playing his guitar, playing golf, bird and deer watching, and reading. In lieu of flowers, please consider performing an "act of kindness" in Dewey’s honor, or making a gift to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Lampasas.
