Dorothy Jean McMullen, 84, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at her residence in Lometa, Texas. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at Sneed Funeral Chapel. (Come and go) Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Senterfitt Cemetery in Lometa. Dorothy was born on February 6, 1936, in San Saba, Texas to William and Macey (Forrester) Miller. She grew up in San Saba and graduated from San Saba High School. After high school, she moved to Lometa, Texas, and began working for the bank in Lometa where she worked for 23 years. She then began working at First Texas Bank in Lampasas, where she worked for 30 years before retiring. Dorothy married Duane Wilson McMullen in 1976 in Lometa. They were happily married for 25 years before his passing. Dorothy was a member of Lometa Baptist Church and more recent Church of the Hills in Lometa. Dorothy enjoyed traveling and spending time with her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane; parents, William and Macey Miller; sisters, Gertrude Miller Smith of San Saba, Myrtle Miller Wilson of Winters; brother, J.T. Miller of San Saba; nephews, Larry Dale Smith of Austin and Ronnie Wilson of Winters. Survivors include her sister, Evelyn Miller Rowell, and husband, Reggie of Louisiana; nephews, Kenneth Smith and wife, Judy of Lampasas, Gary Wilson and wife, Dinah of Fort Worth and Billy Rowell and wife of Louisiana; numerous great-nieces, nephews, and other relatives. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations are made to the American Cancer Society or charity of your choice. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Doug and Kay Brister of Brister Care Home in Lometa, Texas.
