Dorothy M. Garrett

Dorothy M. Garrett, 92 of Lampasas, TX died Thursday January 2, 2020 at her home. She was born September 7, 1927 near Cuervo, NM to parents William Joseph Ferguson and Una Agnes (Thomas) Ferguson. She had been a resident of the community for 52 years. Dorothy married Maurice Fredrick Garrett and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker, and abstractor and a secretary. Mrs. Garrett was very involved in church work at First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School class. She is survived by these children; son, Philip Stephen Garrett (Teresa) Melva D. Garrett-Campbell (Robert D.) Melanie J. Jarboe (Brandtn) Janie Garrett-Marshall 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 5 great great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.   Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, by sister Josie Bloodworth, brother Jim Ferguson, by 3 sons; Wayne Weibe, Larry (Levi) Garrett, Jonathan David Garrett and by her great great-granddaughter, Addison Phoenix Dowdy   Funeral service will be Monday January 6, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Lampasas. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday evening from 5-7 pm at Sneed Funeral Chapel.   In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Lampasas Public Library.
